Alfred Pennyworth is a former British SAS soldier and the trusted security to Thomas Wayne. He is the proud owner of security firm Pennyworth Security and a close friend of Bazza and Dave Boy.

History

Nothing much is known about Alfred's history, other than the fact he served 10 years in the SAS for the British Government alongside Bazza and Dave Boy and Spanish. Flashbacks of his time in the military still plague him.

10 years prior to Rhyme 'N' Reason Alfred and Dave boy were part of the troops in Rabat Morocco. Going to a first floor bedroom on the south side. Splitting up into 2 groups, 2 each, they went in, to secure the package. A man inside pointed the room out. Calls out to wait, having been promised money and a passport. Alfred answers it's above his pay grade. Knocks the guy to take suspicion off. Dave boy grabbed the package, some other man with a sack on his head. Taking who they were ordered to grab to a meeting point, hands him off the MI6 agents. While that man calls back to them, they are making a mistake. He has a wife and a daughter.

Stationed somewhere else Alfred kills one guy. He next encounters a boy. Knowing the enemy was deploying kids, didn't expect the boy to be so young. While in Don't Push It the Psychic fence got ahold of that memory from his past. Triggering traumatic memories,

Forming Pennyworth Security

After his departure from the SAS, Alfred, aspiring to be his own man and build an empire, formed his own security business, Pennyworth Security. Alfred began by working with small clubs on the door, however, his reach expanded after meeting Thomas Wayne in Pilot, who offered him a security contract, much to his delight. Pennyworth, however, declined, instead deciding to freelance.

Through Pennyworth Security, Alfred has become known to the infamous Raven Society, run by Lord Harwood. Tensions began to rise after the kidnapping of his girlfriend, Esme Winikus, by Raven Society member Bet Sykes, and was one of the reasons he declined to work with Thomas Wayne in the future.

Relationship with Esme Winikus

Alfred first met Esme while working as security of a downtown club in London where Esme was dancing in Pilot. Alfred approached Esme and asked if he could take her out the following day, to which she agreed. The relationship between the two grew as the two became closer, leading to Alfred eventually asking Esme to marry him in The Landlord's Daughter. Esme agreed and the two planned to marry, however complications arose in Martha Kane as Esme's father Evelyn Winikus declined to bless the marriage — promising to disinherit Esme if the two were to marry, an ordeal which led to Esme handing back Alfred's ring.

With the marriage called off, Esme planned to move away to pursue a dancing and acting career, however Alfred, realizing his loss, rented an apartment for the two using money acquired from his business deal with Martha Kane and the No Name League. The two eventually fixed their differences and Esme accepted Alfred's hand in marriage once again.

Avenging Esme

Alfred's relationship with Esme is short-lived, when she is killed by Captain Curzon — his old captain from his army days — in retaliation for publicly humiliating him previously. Alfred is sent into a long grieving period and a hunt to find out who is responsible. He works closely with John Ripper to find out the suspect and further asks for Aziz's help to track him down. When he finally comes face-to-face with Curzon, he shows no emotion when killing him and Mrs Pike, but is unwilling to allow Bet Sykes to torture him, who is also suffering from the grief of loosing Esme. In retaliation for this, Alfred is arrested by Aziz and sentenced to seven years in prison.

Aiding the Queen

With his future at risk following his incarceration, Alfred strikes a deal with Aziz to assassinate Harwood and save the government. Alfred takes the deal, but is unwilling to follow through with the killing of the No Name agents when he realizes they are Martha Kane and Thomas Wayne. Fearing that he may be arrested for deviating from the deal, Alfred hatches a plan to flee the country for New Orleans.

With all ways out of the country halted thanks to the Raven Society and the kidnapping of The Queen, Alfred sees an opportunity to save the Queen and clear his name. With the help of Martha and Thomas, he is able to save the Queen from Bet, Peggy and Mrs Spicer and Mrs Spicer. Thus pardoned from his incarceration, but takes the opportunity to sleep with the Queen. When he learns of his father's involvement with the Raven Society and fearing the Queen's safety, Alfred again launches a plan to save the Queen. He arrives at the cabinet dinner at Sir Francis Tewkes's house to find his father, Arthur, threatening the cabinet with an explosive. He unfortunately has to shoot his father, but the explosives detonate anyway. Alfred is able to carry the Queen from the fire to safety.

Night Club owner

Alfred now is running a club. The Delaney, a black-market Soho club that welcomes everyone, regardless of their politics, in the West End Neutral Zone. Still with Sandra Onslow who now works there as a singer on stage. Mr Chadley is working there too, as floor manager he does seem to do much of the day-to-day managing.

Keeping the policy of "No politics, no fire-arms. Everyone rubs together and enjoys them selfs." Alfred kept his establishment running in the war. Throwing out the man whom was known at the club and may have started the political argument. Saw the soldier had not checked hid side arm. Alfred called Sheri over to check the gun at the door.    

Alfred sends Sandra away from the table as Gulliver Troy walks in and she understood what that means.  Gulliver and Alfred could talk, and it is revealed it was Troy who swiped Salt away from Aziz in exchange for a hefty chunk of change.  

Taking a bottle which had been order by a table and walks to his office, for toasting to American. Having to make payoff, they could leave in a week. Bazza asked "When do we tell Charlie and the staff" Alfred states "we don't, we will leaven a note and some cash." or else they be announcing it to everyone in London. Alfred explains. "It will seem like we are running away." "it will seem like leaving" We are moving on, toast to hard choices. Alfred went home to his mom, telling her he had the money for both to leave. Mrs. Pennyworth is still morning and does not leave for America.

Alfred saw Sandra Onslow sitting at the table with her dad Sid Onslow. Sandra had news for him too.  Her dad tells she could be an opening act.  Once Alfred sat alone with Sandra as he trying to have a word her about something. Likely about his leaving.  She thinks it is about her leaving him once she gets famous. Only then spotted Thomas Wayne walk back into his club. Cursing at what he might be doing here. Having not seen him since he left for Gotham.   Thomas Wayne asked if Alfred work there? Alfred states that it is his club. Seeing Mr. Wayne was there to meet someone, Alfred met Aleister Crowley for the first time.  Alfred call Sheri over to take care of his old friends.  

By the next day, Sandra found Alfie in his club. Having to tell him she will be performing. Only doing 1 number she hopes that Alfred will come. Alfred ofcause only tells her that he would try. She thinks it would be nice if he chose the song. Alfred then went to his office, where Bazza was playing cards. When the phone rang Alfred told Bazza, if it was The Queen I'm not here. Bazza answers it wasn't. Mrs. Pennyworth asks if he is there, Bazza passes the phone telling Alfie, it is his mother. His mother has been kidnapped. She reads him a letter, demanding $20,000 and that they know that he has the money.  Come alone in 1 hour or his mom is dead. His mom then tells him not to do it right ahead of the receiver being grabbed away and hung up on them.  Alfred met the car. not paying till he sees his mom. Be amateur Alfred was able to take the gun away, make them tell the location. Switching the 2 out for his friends since they were in masks, they went to the trailer to save his mom. The cops come and open fire on everyone, and let the kidnapper get away with the money. Aziz thought that it had to do with Salt and almost, almost shooting Alfred's mom.

The Hunted Fox Back at his nightclub, Alfred, Dave Boy and Troy's crew celebrate their successful heist. However, Alfred has reservations about what he's done, and he and Dave Boy clash with the others. Troy gets involved, but it's only when he hits his wife Melanie that Alfred defies his former Captain. Gully attempts to use his old military authority over him, but Alfred insists he's his own man now. Alfred has his club floor manager staff Mr Chadley call last orders, Mrs. Troy thanks Alfred for defending her from her husband, and the passion between the two of them leads to a kiss that Melanie eventually puts a stop to.  

The Bleeding Heart, when the club was mostly empty, Daveboy and Alfie sat at the bar talking about their money shortage. Sandra and her dad Sid came over. She had news, her dad told everyone, she will be making a record. She asks Alfie to be there? Him and Daveboy go back their talk. Knowing they need 1 more job with Gully.  Daveboy feels sad, Alfred still has not told her about their leaving.

Then, after the robbery job, Mrs. Troy was at the club drinking alone. Alfred went to join her at her booth.

The Rose and Thorn Alfred saw Sandra Onslow in the club. She was upset he missed her recording session. He looked like it much worse. Reminding her, he always told her; he was not good for her. He started by telling her she has prospects in music. At last told her, he is leaving for America. Gives her an envelope. Calling it an apology, it was full of money. She was sad, but glad he at least told her.  

The Bloody Mary on his last night, Alfie attempts to talk to Sandra. Her father Sid gives a sarcastic bon voyage. Then seeing Dr Fox and Mr. Wayne at a table talking. He went over and Lucius Fox invites him to sit. Talking about they all would be on the plane tomorrow. Lucius Fox questions Alfred's jumping ship. Alfred state he is strictly freelance and won't back the loser. As some Raven soldiers were at a table and started to sing, Sandra walked over to the stage to out sing them. The Piano player came next to play for her. The club staff Mr. Chadley looked to stop her Alfred waved for her to be able to continue, as she rally most of the other patrons of the club to sing along with her. That silences the soldiers singing.

After the club was closed, Alfred hallucinates his dead father's ghost about what he thought about leaving. Arthur Pennyworth tells for once he could agree, getting his self and his mother out was right. Telling Alfred that you can't fight the tides, Isaac Newton proved that, but Alfred was not sure Isaac Newton had to do with it. It was gravity so Alfred tosses his lighter up to prove he can fight gravity and the figment was gone. That was when Mrs. Troy walks in, needing help.

Small jobs, Saving for America

Martha and Aziz go to Alfred's club, The Delaney, with a job. Alfred is meant to abduct Colonel Salt, Aziz didn't haggle. Aziz shows Alfred the photo of the chap. Martha tells where, he has a mistress, shows up at random times, at least once a week.  The 2 leave the office, Bazza walks in, Dave boy pops out. Talking money and if America really looks like in movie. The 3 toasts to America. The Queen was still calling, at home Alfred had his mother taking the calls. Shaking his head no, saying to tell her he's work on a job. The queen gave the message for her to tell him "He is a cruel beast and I despise him."

Alfie, Bazza, Dave boy set them self outside the house. Bazza had the binoculars. In the day time the 2 cars arrive. While waiting Alfred is haunted thinking about ghost of him dad.  It was a bad dream. That night they sneak in, finding Salt and his mistress intimate on the floor.   Putting him in the van and drive back. Salt tries to talk or bribe his way to freedom. Reaching the check-point they speed up and Dave boy bazookas the gate. Salt recognizes Alfred from the papers and claims his dad was a hero to him. Salt tells Alfred he likes to know what makes people tick. Alfred is like a taxi meter. Money drives him. Alfred seems glad to hand Salt over to Aziz, but Salt is snatched right back not long after and quickly resumes work for the Raven Union.  Aziz is quickly on Alfred’s doorstep complaining about this since it implies a leak that potentially came from Alfred himself, though Alfred vehemently denies it.  Being at his club all night. Alfred reminds him, he betray him in the past, and only came with 2 car, were under manned.

The Belt and Welt bombs explode just outside Alfred's home. He's more concerned about getting his money to America back. Alfred hallucinates his dead father's ghost, who advises him that someone close to him took the money.

Needing the money, Alfred feels he needs to talk to Gulliver Troy. Going to Troy's house he met Mrs. Troy for the first time. Being told he is at the garage but she was not supposed to tell that. Alfred confronts him about his money, but Troy assures him he had nothing to do with it. Once that is sorted, Troy offers Alfred a place on his crew to help him recover his money.

Alfred comes across Martha Kane, and he informs her that he recently saw Thomas Wayne at his nightclub having a talk with known Aleister Crowley.  

As Alfred continues to search for the person who stole his money, he eventually realizes the culprit is actually one of the patrons at his nightclub named Vic. Explained after Dave Boy admits that one night when he was drunk, he bragged about the money he, Bazza and Alfred had earned to leave the city. They track Vic down to a traveling circus thanks to his girlfriend Sheri, the nightclub's barmaid. Vic and his men open fire, and Alfred, Bazza and Dave Boy fight back. Alfred finds Vic and the two fight over the money -- and the altercation ends with Alfred using a piece of broken mirror to stab Vic in the throat. Dying, Vic is found by his girlfriend and she attempts to drive away with the money. She crashing the car into some nearby barrels. Unfortunately, Bazza is nearest to the crash, and the explosion fatally wounds him. Bleeding on the ground, Bazza tragically asks his two friends to swear to him that they will lead quiet, happy lives where they become rich and married. In the end, Alfred is left with no money since it went up in flames, and the guilt of his actions leading to the death of another one of his friends.

Alfred is still reeling from the terrible loss of losing his friend Bazza.  A funeral is held for Bazza at the start of The Hunted Fox, and there Alfred is reunited with his old SAS Captain, Gulliver Troy. But in this moment, all Alfred cares about is leaving London with his mom for America. He needs money and fast.   Alfred turned down Troy's offer to work for him, he changes his mind and agrees to join Troy's crew of Banjo, Monty, and Rita for whatever job they have coming next.  

In bed with Sandra, as he got up to leave for a job. Sandra asks if it was for the man at the funeral. Alfred reminders not to ask. She should leave him. Sandra tells him tells him she does trust Troy. Alfred has taken part in Troy's latest robbery, to steal gold from the Lord mayor of London, which involves Troy and his crew attacking the mayor's carriage in the middle of the road. While the gold doesn't appear to be onboard, Alfred brutally beats the mayor until he tells them where it is hidden.  

Meeting with Thomas Wayne in The Bleeding Heart, remembering, "you once told me you get me on a seat to America." asks the CIA agent what it would cost but the price is steep. Alfred didn't have enough, Thomas offers to loan Alfred the money, but he refuses, stating he doesn't want to be indebted to him.  no string. Wayne reminds him they are friends, but Alfred answers "I will get the money. No problem."  

Still needing money, Daveboy cursed at how much, then state the easy answer. To sallow their pride and to take a last job with Gully Troy. Alfred in return asked him. DaveBoy stated he was asking him what to do. Alfred didn't know why he had to always decide. Dave boy states after all these years asked why now he had to the thinking. Alfred had gone soft.

Alfred meets out side. seeing it easy to enter but no way out. Agree to participate in Troy's next heist. Troy tells him, they will meet at 1100 hour, his house. at Troy house. Not a neutral place. The 3 who made up Troy's crew Banjo, Monty, and Rita were on the couch waiting, Melanie Troy was present too. Serving tea and having a spat with her husband.  

A crew numbering 5 went to the wrestling match. Alfred and Dave boy were with Troy while the other 2 Banjo and Rita stood out in the hall.  The 3 of them went in to take all the money and drill the safe, then insert a fuse to blow the safe.     

The plan didn't work, the wrestling match didn't play out as normal. Still blowing it after the match was over. The other 2 try to block the door. That didn't work, they shoot at the crowd. Alfred didn't want to shoot the lady wrestler, Banjo whom had taken off his mask did for him.  All 6 of the crew were sitting with the money, Alfie was not Troy's boy any longer, and told them off. Angry at murder and the stupidity of one of the crew Banjo, he was shooting in a panic and even Rita agrees. The tragic robbery to make the news.  Alfred visits his mother but with a detailed account of the event in the newspapers, she put two and two together and kicks her son out for the role he played in this massacre. A self-loathing Alfred embarks on a dangerous path when he ends up sleeping with Troy's wife, Melanie and leaving his girlfriend all alone while she records her album in a studio, all but ensuring a deadly confrontation with his old SAS Captain.

The Rose and Thorn puts Alfred in that next morning. Enjoying Melanie, and expecting it would be only one time, he was leaving. Lighting them each a cigarette while still in bed together. She told him they both had fun. He felt that means they are both different. He did like her, he liked that she didn't love him.

Thanks to the last job Alfred went to see Mr. Wayne having the money for the payoffs and tickets to leave for America. With the CIA's help, will get him, his mother and Dave Boy on a plane.  Wayne tries to talk him into doing 1 more job.

Troops stormed into Alfred's club. He was standing there looked shocked. The Queen arrived there with Victor Aziz. At first seeming like this visit was about Alfie and her. Instead the sit down is about English League needing him for a job. Alfred had enough money now. He was shocked that everyone knew about his plans of leaving for America. Aziz offers then to pay him in silence about another man's wife whom it is rumor of him be with. Not wanting it to get back to Gulliver Troy. Calling his wife Melanie Troy to warn her, also test if he knows.

Waking up Dave Boy, as he was ready to leave for America. Alfred tells him, he has to do one more job for Aziz. Dave Boy asks, what Aziz has on him. Alfred said he doesn't have to come, didn't need to know. Dave Boy states it that bad. Alfred mentions a woman. Dave Boy knows, Mrs Troy and tells him half the club knows. She is trouble. He must be suicidal, Troy is the wrong guy to cross. They wished Bazza was here.

Alfred and Dave Boy join Martha, as they are to use a small diner where the Union takes Fox for a Burger. Waiting till Fox spends some time trying to instruct the waitress in how a burger should be made, till making a move in he hopes to avoid bloodshed. Trying to talk like one soldier to another. Alfred and his team have no choice but to open fire. Successful in getting Lucius Fox into the back seat of the car. Alfred was driving, while Martha try to get info out of the scientist about Project Stormcloud.  

with Dave boy, his mom and Mrs. Troy sat, waiting, expecting to be on that plane.   Till suddenly a feeling stopped him. As Mrs Pennyworth was so thankful not to be leaving.   At the very moment, Alfred comes to the realization he's ready to stand for something and fight for what he believes in. Being joined standing there by Wayne and Fox. He sends Mrs. Troy off to get onto the plane and fly out of England.

Fight for London

Now that Alfred has chosen to stay in London, he must face Gulliver Troy.

The Hangman's Noose Prime minister Aziz and Alfred Pennyworth stood out in the open of a foggy field. Checking for an ambush, there was no spot for a sniper. Waiting for a meeting with Raven Union. Aziz thanks Alfred for staying, Aziz admits he would flee if he could, and asks Alfred "Why?"  Alfred answers "Stupidity. God knows I try to leave."  Aziz questions if it might of been Honor, Loyalty, Hatred of tyranny. Alfred said, "Maybe I just like a fight."

Ravens pull up in 2 cars.  Salt and General Nelson Thursday stood before them.  

Thursday reminds them, Lord Harwood led the Raven Union, it was the army that been them in battle. Army plays no part in politics.  

Dave Boy was watching over Mrs. Pennyworth so she would not be alone, in case Troy were to come. They would now have to face the consequence of staying in London and not leaving on the plane for America.  

By The Hangman's Noose the Queen with those of the English League were glad to toast, no more Lord Harwood and London might still win out.  Thomas voices his feeling that Salt could not be better, Martha agrees with him. Talks move to inside Aziz's office. Thomas, Martha, and Lucius and Alfred. Aziz asked him what he thought from the meeting. Wondering if they could trust them, Alfred states I trust no one.

Tired of waiting for his old SAS Captain to find him, Alfred goes to Troy's house, Alfred falls into a trap when he is cornered by the last two members of Troy's crew of thieves Monty, and Rita. In order to get even, Troy takes Alfred into the woods.  After stabbed by Troy in the chest, troy gives Alfred a knife and a five-minute head start, after which he will start hunting for him. Alfred begs his old friend to talk things through, but Troy isn't exactly someone to be reasoned with. With no other option, Alfred starts running through the forest, knowing full well he doesn't stand much of a chance.

Fortunately, Alfred's loss of blood leads him to hallucinate the ghost of his old friend Bazza. Their talk convinces Alfred to save his energy and to better plan for Troy's arrival. When Troy finally catches up to him, Alfred in turn catches him off guard, and the two end up in a lethal knife fight. Alfred finally puts an end to the battle by springing a trap he built during the head start Troy gave him.  

But while Troy expects his opponent to finish him off, Alfred decides to spare his life and leaves him in the forest. Troy left instruction for Monty, if Alfred were to win and come back to the vehicle alive. Even if he lost, he could still win. Alfred was bleeding out, too weak to fight. Dave Boy and Mary then track Alfred down and save him, and at the very moment.

Lucius, Thomas and Martha in Paradise Lost went to Alfred's house to talk to him. Having to face how Alfred's mother feels about Alfred going into danger. They hatch a plan. Having only a day till it will be used on London. Thomas explains as still CIA station Chief, Thomas informs the Union that he has brought back his missing scientist, Lucius Fox. Really use it to break into the Raven Union headquarters and steal the “Project Stormcloud” before that it can be used.

This plan is a suicide mission, and the entire crew treats it as such. Alfred reconnects with his ex-girlfriend Sandra. Sandra asks how many times he say the same line. Alfred clarifies, being sorry that he loves her too much to pretend he will never let her down. Her father still objects, they kiss. The pair hook up again, that night.

The next day, Thomas, Lucius, Alfred, and Dave Boy drive to the Raven Union headquarters. The quartet can walk through the gates considering that Thomas is an agent of the CIA, an organization that is technically on the side of the Union. Allowed to pass and, although they are meant to be taken directly to John Salt, they dispose of their security escorts once they are inside and leave. Not wasting any time, they are eventually able to also sneak into the “Storm Cloud Project” lab.

Lucius knew the way, they secure the “Stormcloud” weapon, and then move to get out. However, Salt realizes that something is wrong, and the four men are surrounded before they can escape. Alfred could not bluff is way out.

Dave Boy, Thomas, and Lucius are locked up in cells, but Alfred is forced to call London. Aziz and Martha are there, Salt reminded them of the time left to surrender. After is taken to Salt’s office. As leader Salt sees Alfred as a man of honor, and offers him the opportunity to join his side. Alfred refuses, but Salt has his father come rolling out in a powered wheel chair to try and persuaded his son to switch sides.

Alfred is surprised to see that his father is still alive, and not hallucinates his father's ghost.

Later, Alfred is locks in with the rest of his friends, they feel as if they have failed, and that no one will come and save them. Unexpectedly, the Sykes sisters with Frances Gaunt and Vikki Dufrench came into the room.

Now that they are free and armed, the crew attempts to complete the mission but are once again captured. The four men are taken to Salt’s chambers, where each has a chance to join the Union. They all decline the offer. Arthur asks Salt to give him a moment of privacy with his son, to try one last time to have him join them. Salt accepts and goes to his rooms to wait. It seems that he is trying to recruit him for the Union, he lowers his voice and asks his son if there is a possibility that his mother will forgive him. Arthur just wants to see his wife again, and Alfred really believes that his parents can reunite, and this pushes Arthur to switch sides.

Alfred, Thomas, Lucius, Dave Boy, and Arthur drive away from the Raven Union headquarters with the “Project Stormcloud” weapon finally secured. The Lion and Lamb Alfred takes his father back to their house so he can be reunited with his wife, Mary. However, not all is as it seems.

Alfred's father Mr. Pennyworth seems to side with Alfred and saved them all. It was a trick but he agreed to "help" his son was to be reunited with his family before the bomb killed everyone in London. Alfred is understandably furious with this revelation, and he takes his anger out on his father. However, thanks to his wife and son, he revealing to Alfred the location of the bomb.

Alfred and Dave Boy have to stop the Raven's real plan. Finding the "Stormcloud" in the crypt. Are too late as it seems to start to activate. Fox and Troy come just in time to help them. They could not do more then watch as Troy saves the city.

6 months later. Down on the street of London as the fighting gets intense. They look beaten, till a single vehicle arrives. They unleash the new weapon, Troy, in his meta-human form. Alfred and Dave Boy with Katie and Bet's the troops charge into the battle.

Business Opportunity

It is 5 years later by the start of Well To Do. Taking on cases, also working with the government. Being the best at handling all the new People with Enhancements that were showing up in the city. Taking on more of the managerial role. He has added Bet Sykes and Mr Chadley to the group.

The PWE made people nervous, Alfred saw business opportunity. Being called in, a man was on the street, with a mechanized cybernetic arm, clamped onto a young lady. It was around her neck, he explains, it is not him. It does what it wants, since waking up in a hospital. Which Alfred curses scientist. Alfred explains, the government pays him 500 quid for every one of his sort, but not close to as much if the person is dead. Taking something metal, Alfred walks over to the cybernetic, gives it a few knocks. It lefts the young lady go, to try and grab Alfred. Alfred incapacitated the man named Jez, with a kick.

Lucius Fox and Martha Kane are called in to assess the situation and Fox promises to get Jez the help he needs. Alfred, Dave boy and Bet walk closer, Martha congratulates Mr. Pennyworth on his 3rd catch this month. Bet quickly answer, not to think of dropping the price. Martha answers, when the price was set, nobody imagined this many PWEs would emerge.

Alfred seems to sleep with random girls. One morning, when the girl from that night left, his mom questions when he will find a nice one. Tests if he even knew the girl's name. Alfred and his mom talk about that she has a job too, he could help out with food shopping. Alfred has to drive to work, he did enjoy hear Sandra's song on the car radio, as he drives past a billboard with Sandra on it.

Playing a client, Miss Hamperton was waiting in Alfred Pennyworth's office in Well To Do. With a picture of a girl, and claiming that she has been missing for 2 weeks. Playing Miss Hamperton, the nanny for the Thistle family. On the trail to where to next search for Jessica Thistle. Alfred and Dave Boy show up at Mr. Remley's club while working the case of the missing Jessica Thistle. Alfred catches him in a lie. Knowing if he had not seen a girl, when some one comes asking, he squeeze money out of it. By saying he had not seen the girl, he knew where miss Thistle was. Remley saw miss Thistle a couple of time. Last time hanging with Sister Susie.

Going to see Sister Susie, Alfred said they could knock on the front door. Dave Boy asks where is the fun in that? As a man who is clearly high answers the door. They force their way inside. Tell everyone they are looking for Jessica Thistle, wish to see the girl. Sister Susie answers this is a registered charity and that she is well protected. Sister Susie let them see Jessica Thistle to ask her if she wants to leave. They walk to a locked room, and the door is unlocked Jessica answers she does not want to go home. Taking the girl by force Alfred carries her, Dave Boy shoots their way out. Alfred and Mr Chadley were standing there, having let her rest on the couch. Jessica Thistle is not sure she wants to go home. Alfred gives her a business card with his office number, also home address. Telling her, he has to get her home. If she does not want to stay, she does not have to stay. He would help her find a place to lay low. The next morning, Alfred sat down to Breakfast with his mom. Mary asks when is he going to settle down. He needs children. The door rang, it was Jessica Thistle. Not sure what happens, she shows up at the Pennyworth's house's front door.

Alfred does come home, see his mom all glammed up and in her good hat. She tells him, she is going to work. Not long after, Thomas and Sam went to the Pennyworth family's house. Sam looked for Mrs. P, only Alfred thought she left for work, and was going to their house. That was a lie. Sam went to get a toy as the men needed to talk. Asking about a job on behalf of Wayne Enterprises, and then also about what his wife does for work. If she is safe working. Alfred thinks Thomas should talk to his wife. As a friend he should trust Martha. Samantha came downstairs with a teddy bear named Toby. Toby was Alfred's stuffed bear and he grabs it back from Samantha. She was a bear thief. She and daddy left for the zoo.

Alfred learns later, the 1 who hired him was not really the nanny. Miss Hamperton who's real name was Elizabeth Vincy makes it to the office, but had been stabbed. Miss Thistle was in danger, Alfred thanks Sandra for letting Dave boy leave the girl there. Alfred contacts Aziz, whom asks Alfred about miss Jessica Thistle. Alfred answers, men came for her, Dave boy put her somewhere safe. Will not tell where, men with short hair and shiny shoes tried to abduct her. Aziz asks is Alfred thinks that means his government.

Outside of Sister Susie's more were showing up, Alfred and Dave Boy were getting ready to pay another visit. Another car pulled up too. CIA from the short hair and shiny shoes. CIA men got inside the same way which Martha did. So they also went in. Taking out each man. When was about to kill Martha be killed, Alfred and Dave Boy shot the CIA men first. Alfred, Dave Boy and Martha had learn the truth. Try to call Sandra but no one was answering the phone. As Jessica was about to stab her, Alfred and Daveboy broke through the door and Daveboy shot Jessica.

At the start of Comply Or Die Alfred and Dave Boy were drinking together at The Queen Anne's Revenge. Dave Boy feels dreadful about shooting Jessica Thistle as they watched the news report. Then Alfred Pennyworth is contacted by MI5, Fox has to admit he did install cameras inside The Queen Anne's Revenge and is able to always watch. Needing to hire him, Gully Troy ran away. Gully is at a horse race betting office. Alfred Pennyworth along with Martha and Lucius Fox were outside, having found Troy. Martha questions Alfred's class when he looks for a pay raise to face Troy, all because of bring up his love life. Alfred answers her, if he also married a Billionaire, he'd have more class. Martha answer Touché. So Martha lets him give a price and Alfred asks for double, and she answers for Alfred to go get him. make it quick. Alfred confronted her about Thomas coming to him to ask about her job. Also about if his mom was working yesterday.

Going in alone Alfred manages to pacify him, by talking about old time. Gully Troy has mix feeling on his boy Alfie. He loves him but still has not and may never forgive him for the sexual relation with his wife. Having a drink of whisky, but catches Alfie when it looked like there was an opening to go for his switch in back of the armor. Those in the bar start a fight with him. Than is when Alfie disable him with a kill switch which Level 6 fitted on the back of his armor. However, the patrons, angry at losing a bet, attack them to try and sell Gully's armor, Lucius Fox arriving gives Alfred the time to disarm them. They get Gully back onto the device in time.

Getting to his office, in Silver Birch. Mr Chadley told him that his mom keeps calling. There has been trouble at the Wanye home and to call. Then a new client came in. Patrick Wayne went to the office space of Pennyworth Security, offers Alfie and a hesitant Daveboy a hefty sum of £1,000,000 to break his son out of jail. The job was to get Thomas out, and to the airfield where an airplane was waiting to fly him out of the country. £10,000 as an advance. Alfred next phones him mom, glad to know she is alright. Learns, she had Samantha with her.

Going first to talk to Aziz, asking after Martha who was in the hospital. Alfred next talks about the connection past murders. Aziz tell him to stay out of it. Not wanting to upset the American, ahead of the global summit.

Daveboy and Mr Chadley were downstairs in the bar waiting for Alfred. Debating if this is connected to the Thistles. Sure Wayne was set up. They are going that night. They get the help of Fox and the 4 men left for the Tower of London, in a van as Dave Boy dressed as a Beefeater. With the help of Lucius Fox, he Supples them with a Lock-picking Device and Grappling Hook Gun. Alfred used the Grappling Hook Gun and was a little amazed that it works. Being hoisted up to the top, ties the rope for Dave boy to climb. Getting to the cell Thomas asks about his family. They used Lock-picking Device Fox gave them, it was a little of a delay but works. Open the bars and Daveboy plays like he is escorting them like prisoner. The 3 of them had to run, Lucius Fox and Mr Chadley waited in the van, and the guard had open fire.

Stopping off briefly at home, Alfred then left to collect him payment. Patrick and Virginia were at the Wayne's house in London, though none of the family were home. Alfred shows up at the door, she shows Mr Pennyworth in. Telling her dear that he has a visitor. Patrick started to talk busyness. Glad that he thinks his son is safely somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean now. Alfred Pennyworth was here to try to collect. Soon Virginia interrupts. Patrick states to let him handle it. Soon she shows her true self and answers that Patrick is the dumbest, softest person. 1,000,000 to save his useless trust fond baby. Alfred again talks business, Virginia order Alfred to take a hick and Patrick to not pay. To everyone's anger, Thomas barges into the room. Alfred was angry, he didn't get any money out of this. Thomas is angry and punches his father. Patrick is angry, he sincerely wanted his son safe.

At gun point orders all 3 men to sit in the chairs. Virginia lists all of her evil plan. America is England's ally. Patrick had no choice but to get the handcuffs to cuff Alfred and Thomas. Then the police bust through the door into the room, as Alfred planned. Virginia tells the police, they had done nothing wrong, these men are fugitives. Alfred thought Patrick's words sounded like something. Patrick states out loud, she has diplomatic immunity. Also admits, she sent men to try and kill Martha. Thanks to Patrick warning them in time. Alfred warns Aziz who goes and waits in Martha's hospital room. Aziz and a handful of cops are there, when the 2 agents walk in, are thwarted. Only after hearing back from Aziz on the phone was Alfred ready to go to Scotland yard.

Sandra went to visit Alfred and wait for him in his office. When Daveboy and Sally Prufrock hooked up, in The Queen Anne's Revenge downstairs. Alfred and Sally meet for the first time. Starling both Sally and Daveboy. He introduces them. Sally this is Alfie, Alfie this is Sally. Once upstairs, Sandra and Alfie seem to be back to how it was, and they end up sleeping together.

In Rhyme 'N' Reason, Prime Minister Aziz hires Alfred to act as security for Zahra Khin, who is in London for the summit but is not backed officially by the British government. Coming to speech with President May of the Kalpoor government, in hope a truce can be arranged. Alfred 1st makes sure, the job is not to kill this woman. Then states, protecting diplomats is extra. Miss Khin and Mr. Win at first dismiss the plan? Not trusting the suggestion of more security. Thinking anyone would be a spy for Aziz. After thwarting an assassination attempt on her life, as an assassin dressed as a crossing guard stopped the car. Miss Khin was safely pulled from her car, but her driver was not so lucky. They needed a place to hide. Alfred takes her to The Queen Anne's Revenge. Going upstairs Miss Khin to the Pennyworth Security office and asks Alfred and Mr Chadley for space so she can use the phone.

With out telling them she plans to use the bar to set a trap. So, Mr. Chadley stood behind the bar, as the rest of the bar seems to be empty. 2 men in masks came in, ask him where Zahra Khin is? Alfred and Mr. Win come out and ambush the 2 men. The men seem to know Alfie and be on friendly terms. Alfred tells Mr. Win and Miss Khin not to kill them, so the men can tell them who is behind it all. Here they unveil that her head of security was a traitor. She already knew Win was behind the betrayal, because he was the only one who knew the location. and deliver him bound and gagged to the Kalpoor president.

Alfred accompanies Zahra to her hotel room and they talk and have sex, with her revealing that she is in London because she received information that her father who was assassinated 10 years ago is still alive. Alfred goes back to the pub and tells a still hallucinating Daveboy that it was them who kidnapped Zahra's father.

At the start of Hedgehunter, Miss Khin was getting off the phone. Alfred came into the hotel room. Alfred thinks it shady and sounds like a trap, meeting at midnight. She is going with or without him. He suggests the meeting be held at The Queen Anne's Revenge so they can be safe. His past made him feel unsure what do to, Alfred wants Miss Khin to let someone else take over her protection. She thinks it is because of last night. She can see that something is bothering Alfred.

At Parliament later, Miss Khin held a press conference. Mean while, outside the room. Alfred Pennyworth confronted Aziz. At first thinking Aziz was playing stupid. Azia explains, he truely is not aware of the facts. Alfred tells his about what happen 10 years ago. Aziz questions, he could imply that her majesty's government is secretly illegally holding a foreign national? Having no proof, him and Daveboy were there, handed her father to MI6 and that is why Alfred will quit, and not be part of what ever game Aziz is playing. Aziz explains he really does not know. Then suddenly Miss Khin came out.

Zahra Khin and Alfred Pennyworth went for a walk. Joking about how he looks guilty and thinking he was abandoning then suddenly it started to rain. She thought that it was something out of a story book. The romance of hiding as a rain shower comes down. Listing authors she liked, then the 2 of them kiss.

Getting back to the hotel, it seems they have sex again. Alfred is still in bed. She thinks she now understand what is eatting at him. Asks what is her name? Alfred starts talking about Esme. He didn't save her. He told her, it was in the past. She explains, we carry the past with us. Have to learn to live with it.

Zahra Khin and Alfred Pennyworth were having a drink as they wait. Miss Khin explains to Alfred why she never met his man who is a friend of her father. Most people went underground. This man was there in Morocco 10 years ago, the night father went missing. Arriving, he came with 2 arms men for protection. Starting off badly she sat down with him for a talk. She thought it was President May holding her father. This man explains no, it is British soldiers who came that night. Took him and have him still. She understood, by taking her father, the British could install their puppet government. Wonder if her father is here in England. The man told her, for 10 years in a secret prison Hebrides. There is no records of this prison and the men get no trial, every sentence is for life. She thinks if she goes to the press they would have to let him go. The man explains, they could deny and move her father to another prison. He then told her a condition that might help her father.

Alfred realized, this man is working for Aziz, trying to get her to turn on her people. Alfred volunteers to investigate the prison. States, how this man is not her father's friend, and not her friend. This man remembers the voices of those, 10 years ago. He realized Alfred was one of the soldiers. Miss Khin realized Alfred was there, she draws the dirty gun his mom keeps hiding, he gave her to protect her self. Aims at Alfred as she confronts him. Alfred puts his gun down, starts to explain. Not knowing who her dad was, he was a target. Never knew till she was telling him last night, was he able to put it all together. That is why he tried to quit. Pointing at the other man, Alfred states, the man was working with the British. Sold her dad out. The man claims that is a lie and pressures her to shoot Alfred. Listening to them both talk, she made her choice and as it seemed she was still aiming to shoot Alfred, she shot the other man dead. Letting Alfred protect her on the walk back to her hotel, she then asks if what they had between them was a lie. Alfred claims that was true. She smacks him across the face, again and again, till Alfred stops her. Wanting to know how he lives with him self, tomorrow she wants new security, and to never see him again.

As the drug wore off, Daveboy realizes he cannot remember the last 2 days' events, as Alfred tells him they will go to the Hebrides to perform a prison break job. Not for money.

In Don't Push It Alfie and Daveboy were up north and search for a secret prison in the Hebrides which generates power by triggering traumatic memories. Wandering around for days. Starting to think nothing is there. Alfred sees a face of a kid he remembers.

Calls up people's darkest, most painful memories, soon Alfred was back to his years as a soldier.

Saved by Daveboy and Fox. Fox admits he 4 years ago knew the living Psychic fence. Alfred goes down there alone. At last saves the PWE from being used any more. Getting miss Zahra Khin's father Zeya Khin safely out, reunited. Alfie and her have a moment too. She regrets things she said to him in anger. She also has to get her father out of the country to be safe. Having still strong feeling for each other she kisses him goodbye.

In Red Marauder The lights had been flickering all day, Troy is called to duty. Alfred and Daveboy are asked to be brought in. In a room with Thursday and Aziz, Alfred and Dave Boy are told to go with him.

Gearing up Sandra come up to the office, thinking Alfred knows, but inform him she is pregent. Soon a van with Lucius Fox, Martha Kane, and Gully Troy came. The 5 left to the power plane to stop this newest PWE. It was a man who absorbs energy. Troy lost focus on the mission, being angry at Alfred again, and it gets a soldier hit with energy and killed. Dave Boy tells Troy that their boy Alfie is going to be a father. The 3 are able to work together. Go on. Troy state the plan should be, he draws this guy's fire. Then come around from behind. This guy, Mr. Darren Thompson turns out to be a big fan of Captain Blighty, and almost does not want to fight. The 2 PWEs go at it. Thompson turns out to be too much for Troy. As Dave Boy is hit in the leg and Troy has to be dragged behind a wall, as they regroup. Troy explains Alfred has to make it back, so he can be a dad. It is the same plan, he would draw the fire, so they could go. He knocks Alfred out, to make sure he didn't try to stop him.

Alfred comes to, being pulled by Daveboy, she goes back for Gully Troy. Laying on the floor dieing, Gully makes Alfred promises to be a good dad. He regrets that he will not see him become a dad. Asking for a hug, as Alfred and Gully embrace, Gully kisses him and tells him, he loves him.

Giving Troy a service at the bar, as Mr Chadley came down. Not expecting that. Or if it was in the health code. After, Alfred left to see Sandra. That didn't go as planned.

In Rag Trade at the Wayne house, they are in a mess. Calling Alfred for help after someone who looked like Mrs. Pennyworth took Samantha. No one knew till his mom shows up at the house for work. Thomas and Martha at last got info as to their daughter's safety. Alfred went along too, to Hyde Park. Alfred thought if the kidnapper did try anything, then he would follow the money. Alfred asks his mom to stay at the Wayne house, incase the woman calls again. Mary hugs her son and begs him to bring Sam back.

The woman who took Sam expected Mr. Pennyworth might be near by. Alfred can see the different between the woman and his mother. Also sees this for the personal grudge again the Wayne. The woman admits, she really wants to hurt the Wayne family. Take everything they hold dear. Alfred states he knows about the man there. Distracted for a moment, the woman sprays Alfred with something to knock him out.

Coming to chained up in the basement of the Wayne's house. Alfred saw his mom tied up to a chair. She had Samantha. Mrs. Pennyworth was glad to see Alfred finally awake. Trying to cheer Samantha up with a story, telling the Lion and the Mouse. Telling about what someone who thinks they are small can still do to help. Alfred tells Samantha, like mouse of her hair-pin. The man standing guard kicks Alfred. Samantha ran over to stop the man and hug Alfred. Also to slip her hair-pin to him. The guard put her back on the floor by Mrs. Pennyworth's chair. Alfred warns the guard, if he hits a little girl, Alfred will kill him.

The fight upstairs between Thomas and Virginia Devereaux was happening, Alfred frees him self. Jumps the man standing guard from behind. Knocking his gun away. Gets upstairs in time to safe Martha and Thomas. Alfred aims a gun at Virginia, Martha was the one who shot Virginia dead.

Alfred tells his mom; she is going to be a grandma. Jokes what Roger will think, dating a granny. He also tells her, he asked her to marry him, to do the right thing. Mrs. Pennyworth answer, he didn't ask like that? She explains to Alfred, if he wants marriage and children, it is his job to make her see that side of him.

After a night like that, everyone wanted to rest at the start of Highland Wedding. Gladys brought out the tea. No one wanted. Sadly then the phone rang. The call was breaking up, but they were able to tell it is was Lucius Fox on the line. He needed help. Martha and Alfred left for Level 7 faced off with General Thursday. Alfred knocked unconscious the 2 soldiers in the room. They made Thursday surrender the lab, and free Dr. Fox but Fox would not leave till he helped everyone. First finding Bet there too. Then helping everyone. Hoping to get away, once on street level, Henry was dead outside the small green building. Everyone was going crazy. As half of the city were under the effects of Lullaby. So they come up with a plan. Everyone would meet at The Queen Anne's Revenge. Alfred took off running to save Sandra.

Relationship with Sandra Onslow

When Alfred came in to the pub in Shirley Bassey after not seeing him for so long. Sandra in a sweet voice said hi. He asked for a gun to barrow. Later, Sandra had already closed up as she answers the door. Her dad was asleep when Alfred came back with an injured Daveboy to return the gun. Sandra and Alfred went all the way.

Sandra visits Alfred when he is incarcerated in Alma Cogan but he tells her to steer clear of him and anyone else who she has to go to prison to see.

Sandra Onslow and Alfred Pennyworth are in a healthy relationship by The Heavy Crown. Alfred had plans to leave for America and in The Burning Bridge Sandra think he fears she will leave him once she is famous. Sandra wanted Alfred with her in The Bleeding Heart while she records her album in a studio, The Rose and Thorn Alfred saw Sandra in the club. At last told her, he is leaving for America. In The Bloody Mary on his last night in London, Sid gives a sarcastic bon voyage. Going on another suicide mission in Paradise Lost, they rekindle their love.

Sandra had moved on and had a singer boyfriend named Ian, Alfred and Dave boy knew where she was living in London.

Alfred went to check on Sandra at the end of Comply Or Die, and the apartment was full of all new group of people hanging there. Alfred throws everyone out, seeing what kind of poor shape Sandra is in. Sandra was half passed out and not doing alright. He stays the night and they end up sleeping together. Alfred wakes up in her bed in Silver Birch. Sandra was already up, she had a photo shoot that morning. Hair and makeup were coming.

That next night, Sandra seems to enjoy hearing about Alfred's trouble with the police, and breakout at the Tower of London. Sandra and Alfie seem to be back to how it was, as they kiss, and they end up sleeping together.

Sandra went in person to his office in Red Marauder. Upset, because Alfie never responded to her. She thought she gave him time to think. She is pragent by him. Alfred knew nothing. Sandra states, it was all in the note she gave Daveboy the other day. Alfred never got the note, he could not give an answer.

At the end of Red Marauder Alfred went to Sandra's apartment. Tells her, he thinks they should get married. At the very start of Rag Trade Sandra refused him! Alfred believes it is that Sandra is annoyed about how he reacted that morning, and felt that she had every right to be. Alfred was ashamed now of how he reacted. Sandra states, that's not it, entirely. Alfie answers this isn't what either of us was expecting, but he is here to do right by her and the baby. Sandra tells Alfie that she still won't marry him. Sandra walks away and Alfred follows her into her apartment. Alfred was confused and thought Sandra loved him. Sandra answers I love you Alfie. Admits that she always has and probably always will. Sandra is not going to be some body's duty. When Sandra is having a glass of alcohol, and Alfred asks her if she should be drinking in her condition? Sandra gets annoyed at Alfred. He also is trying to do the right thing. Thinks they can make this work. Sandra asks him if he loves her. Alfred gives one of his non answer kinds of response, ending with sure. Alfred states this was not how he thought this would go. Sandra explains to him how it will go. She is keeping the baby and Alfred will be the father, but she is alone. Sandra tells him, she is doing him a favor, because he does not want this, and he does not want her! Does not want to be a father! Alfred shouts back, ofcause he does not want it. What does wanting it have to do with anything? Sandra told him to get out. Starts shoving him to the door. Alfred agrees and states, if he walks out that door he is not coming back.

Alfred went rushing to Sandra in Highland Wedding, to sabe her and the baby. He did care for her. He could not express him self. Being trapped together at The Queen Anne's Revenge, Alfred kept trying to find the moment, so Sandra and him could talk. Taking the karaoke mic to talk, Alfred first told everyone the plan for how all presents would get out of the city. Next infront of everyone tells Sandra how much he loves her. Asks again if she will marry him. Today. This time she answers yes. Everyone runs to a red double-decker bus, picking up everyone at the Wayne house first, drive for the hills.

Out in a meadow, Lucius Fox preforms the wedding. Sandra said I do. As Alfred was about to say I do as well, something happen behind them all. A huge bomb went off in London.

Personality

Alfred Pennyworth is described as being a handsome, charming young man from London. He struggles with the being a kindhearted boy and the brutal killer he was forced to become as a member of the SAS.

He is further shown to be a compassionate person when he is ordered by Inspector Aziz to shoot Thomas Wayne and Martha Kane in order to frame them for the murder of Lord Harwood. He refuses to shoot them, despite not knowing them very well, despite the fact that he is aware it could potentially cost him his freedom and land him back in jail. Despite this, he is shown to have a ruthless anger inside of him, especially when it comes to killing those that have wronged him.
